The Nursing Law Center is currently offering two live courses:
Legal Aspects of Nursing and Legal Nurse Consulting (LNC). Whether you are a practicing nurse who wants to know more about the legal aspects of practice in California, or you want to become a Legal Nurse Consultant, you need to understand the current laws governing the practice of nursing.
Both courses are taught by Laurie R. Elston B.S.N. J.D., a Nurse Attorney
with over 20 years of legal experience. She has represented health care providers in medical malpractice lawsuits and disciplinary actions for over two decades, and is an experienced litigation attorney. She has also served as a Municipal Court Judge Pro Tem. In addition, she taught in the paralegal program at the University of Washington, and frequently speaks to health care provider groups on a variety of legal topics. She is also a CA BRN approved CE provider, #12696.
Experienced litigation attorneys charge $200-$400 an hour. The Legal Aspects of Nursing class gives you an entire day of expert legal information for only $159! The LNC course is based on the new LNC textbook by the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC). It is the largest non-profit LNC organization in the country, and the only LNC exam approved by the American Board of Nursing Specialties. Attorney Elston provides hands on training in small groups, using cases she litigated to teach you the legal process and case evaluation
