The Nursing Law Center offers two live courses: Legal Aspects of Nursing and    Legal Nurse Consulting (LNC).  Both courses are taught by Nurse Attorney Laurie R. Elston B.S.N. J.D.  Ms. Elston has over 20 years of legal experience as an attorney in Washington and California. Throughout her career she has represented health care providers in medical malpractice actions and disciplinary proceedings. She also served as a Municipal Court Judge Pro Temp. She also has extensive teaching experience, and taught personal injury law at the University of Washington.  She is a frequent lecturer to health care provider groups on a wide variety of medical-legal topics.

The Legal Aspects of Nursing Course gives you over 7 hours of expert information on the laws that govern the practice of nursing. As a nurse you need to understand both state and federal laws and how to they apply to your practice. This course will explain how the laws apply in everyday clinical situations, using actual nursing cases. In addition, you will receive a 100+ page comprehensive manual of the key laws governing the practice of nursing to use as a future resource.

One nurse who took this course commented
"These 8 fun filled hours were extremely informative, practical, and all wrapped up in a beneficial and concise package.  Nurses should invest their time and effort in this class to empower themselves to deliver safer care and to further our careers." Ray S., BSN CCM, California

The LNC Course is a live training course so you can ask questions and get answers as we go through the information in the AALNC textbook (they do not offer a live course). Our course also includes a home study portion and individual telephonic mentoring sessions. It is taught by a practicing medical malpractice Attorney and an experienced LNCC so you get all the expertise needed. You will also receive a notebook with all the templates and forms you need to get started. The total cost of our course is $1,795 (other live courses cost over $7,000, and require you to pay annual fees).

Further, we limit our training courses to 10 nurses per course so everyone gets personal, one-on-one training, and individual interviewing practice. Our course also covers marketing and how to operate a business, which are not covered by most online classes.
