The Nursing Law Center is currently offering two courses:
Legal Aspects of Califoria Nursing and a Legal Nurse Consulting (LNC) training course.  Whether you are a practicing nurse who wants to know more about the legal aspects of practice or you want to become a Legal Nurse Consultant, it is essential you understand the laws of California. 

Both courses are taught by Laurie R. Elston, B.S.N., J.D., a Nurse Attorney, with over 20 years of legal experience.  She has represented health care providers in medical malpractice lawsuits and disciplinary proceedings for over two decades, and is an experienced litigation attorney. She has also served as a Municipal Court Judge Pro Tem.

She also enjoys teaching, and previously taught in the paralegal program at the University of Washington.  She frequently speaks and provides lectures to health care providers on a wide variety of legal topics.  

The LNC course offered is based on the new 2010 LNC textbook published by the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC). It is the largest non-profit LNC organization in the country, and the only LNC program approved by the American Board of Nursing Specialties. Attorney Elston provides hands on training in small groups using cases she has litigated to teach you the litigation process and how to do case evaluations.
